Bobs Eye View

Warning -
This entry may make you sick to your stomach. Please have an antacid close at hand.

The top earning C.E.O. in the United States in 2007 was Larry J. Ellison of Oracle. Mr. Ellison was paid $182 million for one year's work (which included stock options).

Just as a little exercise, I decided to see how many shows I would need to do to make $182 million in one year. Let's see: 6 plus 2, carry the 4, divided by 2, minus the...and the total number of shows I would have to do to make $182 million is three hundred and seventy-two gazillion shows!

As reported on the Colbert Report the other night, Exxon/Mobil's last quarter profits translate to them making thirteen hundred dollars every second. One thousand, three hundred dollars each and every second!

Finally, and without comment, the price of a gallon of gas the day that George Bush became President was $1.40.

I have to go and take 182 antacids.

See you tomorrow.
