Bobs Eye View

THE BEGINNING OF THE END

Yesterday, I completed a drive from Coconut Creek, Flori-DUH to Bayside, New York. It was one thousand, two hundred and eighty-seven miles door-to-door. During my drive, I noticed two interesting things.

The first interesting thing was that in just about every state I drove through, I saw Obama bumper stickers. I even saw Obama stickers on vehicles with Georgia and South Carolina license plates. Republican politicians who have been dead for fifty years would get elected over any democrat in those southern states. I probably saw between 20 and 30 Obama bumper stickers. On the entire drive, I did not see a single McCain bumper sticker - not one!

The other thing I noticed was that people were constantly staring at me as they drove past me. Was it because I am bald? No, that couldn't be it. Was it because I look so much like Antonio Banderas? I don't think so. I finally figured it out.

No one, and I mean no one, aside from me, ever used their automobile's turn signal. I was the Last of the Turn Signalers, which reminds me of one of my favorite books, The Last of the Mohicans, by James Fenimore Cooper.

In my continuing effort to keep you not only entertained but informed, I seem to recall (or I may have just dreamed it), that James Fenimore Cooper invented the first pooper scooper, the Cooper Pooper Scooper. Actually, it was called the Super Dooper Cooper Pooper Scooper. Sadly, the idea was more than a hundred years ahead of its time.

This is Chingachkook Nathanson, The Last of the Turn Signalers, saying...

SEE YOU SOON
