Bobs Eye View
As British actor Edmund Keane lay on his death bed, a friend asked him how he felt about dying. Keane supposedly said, "Dying is easy. Comedy is hard." If Keane were alive today, and about to die, I believe he would say, "Death is easy. Blogging every day is a bitch!"
PORTION CONTROL
If you are anything like me, you are puzzled about food-serving sizes. As a service to readers of this blog, Bobs Eye View is listing some guidelines from the International Food Information Council (or, as the National Association for the Elimination of Abbreviations - N.A.E.A. - refers to it, the I.F.I.C.)
1/2 cup of vegetables should be about the size of a small fist.
3 ounces of cooked meat, poultry or fish should be the size of a deck of cards (including the joker).
1 medium apple or orange should be the size of a baseball.
a small baked potato should be the size of a mouse. Sorry, I switched that last one. If you are having a small mouse, it should be the size of baked potato.
As an added bonus, here are a few Bobs Eye View guidelines that I would like to pass along.
A serving of chocolate chip mint or coffee ice cream should be the size of a basketball.
a pizza should be the size of an average circular dining room table.
a piece of licorice should be roughly the length of a golf club.
See You Tomorrow.
