Bobs Eye View

I'M BACK

After doing 4,200 miles, I am back in the bosom of south Flori-DUH.  One of the things I learned on my trip is that this is a really big country, filled with a lot of really stupid people.

An example is that 12 percent think that Senator Obama is a practicing Muslim. Those 12 percent are being referred to by some in the media as "Low Information Voters," or L.I.V., which, coincidentally, is how they think the word live is spelled.  I refer to those 12 percent as being similar to the banjo-playing boy in the movie "Deliverance."

I did pass the largest truck stop in the world on Interstate 80 somewhere in Iowa.  The U.S. is not number one in life expectancy.  In fact, we have slipped to number 42, a shorter life expectancy than citizens of almost any other developed country.  However, we are number one in truck stops, and having the largest percentage of our population in prison.

Finally, I learned that Mississippi remains the most obese state, followed closely by Alabama and Tennessee.  This was reported by the Centers for Disease Control.  I am just wondering how they managed to get every single person in Mississippi on a giant scale at the same time.

See You Soon.
