Bobs Eye View

COME FLY WITH ME...LET'S FLY, LET'S FLY AWAY

Yesterday, one of south Florida's truly mediocre newspapers, the Ft. Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel, reported that starting Monday, the Seminole Coconut Creek Casino, which is just a dice throw from our house in Coconut Creek, will be offering a space flight, worth $200,000, as its grand prize for its "Million Dollar Giveaway" promotion.

Many of you know that I am afraid to fly.  However, an opportunity to whisk me out of Flori-DUH in a matter of seconds is just too good to pass up.  I am going to enter the Seminole Coconut Creek Casino's contest.  Keep you fingers crossed.  Someday soon, Bobs Eye View may be blogging from 60 miles above the earth.  I just hope I have enough extension cord.

COMBINE THOSE TRIPS

I have been reporting on ways for you to save gas.  Another way is to combine trips.  Make a list of errands, and then proceed to do at least 3 or 4 during the same trip.  An example would be:

1) bring clothes to cleaner
2) buy groceries
3) take kids upstate to see their Dad in prison

OBAMA

Yesterday, a friend, my wife and I attended a rally where Barack Obama spoke eloquently for 40 minutes, without the use of a teleprompter, in front of 20,000 passionate people at the Bank Atlantic Center, in Sunrise, Florida. He was amazing!!!

The Bank Atlantic Center was formerly the Office Depot Center, and, as I mentioned yesterday, prior to that it was the National Car Rental Arena.  I was also correct that when this stadium first opened, it was the Squibb Stool Softener Stadium.

If you are fortunate enough to have the opportunity to listen to Obama speak live, don't miss it. Come to think of it, when was the last time we had a President who could speak for more than three words without looking down at his notes, let alone not using a teleprompter?  Oh, that's right - it was Bill Clinton, the President before this one.

I hope you are all enjoying this Memorial Day weekend.

See You Tomorrow.
